Thank God my BF was with me...I passed out...Woke up on my bathroom's floor not knowing what just happen...I have been injecting myself for the pass 13 years but THAT BLUE HARPOON is serious...I asked my BF to do it the last time and I didn't look...Very scary...My Medtronic rep. told me to change it over night so this might help...I think I will try my thighs next time because it is not very confortable on my stomach( Not a lot of fat)...For body image, I feel so NOT attractive anymore it is RIDICULOUS...:)Lysianne Audet Joneshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01133392806140637771noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6233523809168981492.post-30282474899622393602012-04-16T09:57:05.181-07:002012-04-16T09:57:05.181-07:00The first time I got it inserted I was freaking ou...The first time I got it inserted I was freaking out so much. I don't mind the quick-set becuase you don't see it go in. I used to be on the side-set when I 13, and had the most terrible experience with it, and the sensor reminded me of that. It's the insertion device - it's literally like a harpoon gun! And when I first saw the needle don't worry I nearly fainted! :( My DSN was like "ok, just press the button now" - at home I would have spent about an hour physcing myself out first! The data from CGM really is brilliant though, so hope you get a lot from it.

*Also just want to say I'm so glad I've found your blog. It's really nice hearing other peoples' experiences, and you are right - it makes you feel less alone.

All the best :)

SophieBeeing Sophiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12440190302310025656noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6233523809168981492.post-82652771851746425662012-04-10T11:51:58.369-07:002012-04-10T11:51:58.369-07:00I still have to take deep breaths when pushing tha...I still have to take deep breaths when pushing that button. But it is easier than the first time I inserted it! ( of course, I was also 8 months pregnant at the time so EVERYTHING had my nerves in a bundle!)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17855180441486726320noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6233523809168981492.post-33689848368339258402012-04-01T17:30:52.430-07:002012-04-01T17:30:52.430-07:00That little white button at the end of the blue in...That little white button at the end of the blue inserter can be the hardest thing in the world to press. Fortunately, those 3-day sensors can last more than 3 days, if you know how to do it right! (If not, send me a message and I'll tell you). Pulling the inserter off of the sensor after it's injected can also be tricky.

No, I'm not trying to scare you. Once you get the hang of it, it's easy as pie (easier than pie, actually, since people like us don't eat much pie), and it makes you wonder what the big deal was in the first place.Scott Ehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00259475635753627498noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6233523809168981492.post-64433277225197452922012-03-30T18:38:40.083-07:002012-03-30T18:38:40.083-07:00I had no CGM (Dexcom) training... My first insert ...I had no CGM (Dexcom) training... My first insert last July, I sweated and then had visions of driving myself to the ER as I couldn't figure out how to "disconnect."
Fast forward to today and yesterday, I'm on a third sensor due to "issues." It does get easier, honest!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
